When should I book my first lesson?
It is important for students to begin lessons 2 or 3 weeks prior to road exam. Depending how fast you learn then a month.
How many lessons does it take to pass the class 7 road test?
It usually takes a week to learn basics depending on student and maybe 2-3 weeks to become successful
How many lessons does it take to pass the class 5 road test?
Every student is different. It also depends on depend on the class 7 behavior and habits. Generally, it takes approximately it can take up to 3 - 5 days, 4 hours a day for students to practice and learn the new skills required to pass the class 5 exam.

How often should I practice outside the lessons?
ICBC recommends 60 hours of driving experience before your road test. If you can practice outside of lessons, we suggest practicing for two hours on your own for every hour of instruction.
Is it common to fail the road test?
Failing ICBC's rigorous road test is not uncommon. However, with driving lessons from a professional instructor at Open Road Driving School and sufficient practice, our students have a 90% passing rate. Our instructors want you to pass your test as soon as possible, but will tell you if you are not ready for a road test.

Is it better for me to book the road test myself, or should I book it through the school?
Due to potential scheduling conflicts, we recommend the school to book it for you.
What are the steps to reschedule my lesson?
Simply call our number to reschedule your lesson. Please be aware that our lesson cancellation policy is in effect. To avoid being charged for the lesson, please reschedule at least 48 hours before the scheduled lesson.
Do I need to schedule all lessons at once if I purchase a package?
No, you do not. However, due to the high volume of students, we recommend you to schedule several weeks in advance to ensure you get a convenient time slot.
I purchased a package but no longer want to continue the lessons. Will I be able to get a refund?
If you decide not to take further lessons from us, we will deduct the amount for the lesson already provided for individual lessons and refund the remaining balance less a $50 processing fee. Please note that as per our cancellation policy, if you decide to cancel a class within 48 hours of its scheduled time, it will be counted as a late cancellation.
What is the process? What happens after I submit the form?
1. After you contact us, we will email to confirm your details. We will ask you to send us a photo your driver’s licence and any additional information we may need.
2. We will then create a lesson schedule. You will review and confirm the plan or make changes.
3. Once the lesson schedule is confirmed, we will send you the e-transfer details and payment information. You will have 48 hours to send the payment to secure your booking.
4. After the payment is confirmed, we start your driving lessons!
